Gas Safe RegisterTM is the official gas registration body for Great Britain (GB) and Isle of Man and is appointed by the the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). CORGI the the original registration body was replaced in April 2009 by the Gas Safe Register TM
The register protects you the consumer, your family and your property from dangerous gas installations and unscrupulous gas fitters.
Incorrectly fitted, badly repaired and badly maintained gas appliances are a major cause of lethal carbon monoxide poisoning not only that poor gas maintenance can also lead to gas leaks and explosions.
It is a legal requirement for anyone carrying out work on gas installations and appliances to be listed on the Gas Safe Register, so always use a Gas Safe registered engineer to do your gas work and you’ll be gas safe.
As an extra precaution don’t forget to ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card - if they don’t have one or have left it at home, then do not employ them to carry out any gas installation or appliance work.
